Town of Lyons is the gateway to Estes Park, Long's Peak trail head and one of my favorite mountain biking trails Hall Ranch. I will admit that most of the time we drive right through Lyons on our way up to Estes Park since it is less than a half hour car ride from Boulder. Other times if we ride at Hall Ranch we will stop in Lyons for drinks on our way back home. The downtown area can be walked from end-to-end in 3 minutes, but it is a pretty neat little town with all of its antique shops (even though I never shop them).

In June Lyons holds a Whitewater Fest and hosts a bluegrass festival in the summer.
