Nederland:

Nederland, or as the locals call it "Ned", is about a 25 minute drive up Boulder Canyon from Boulder. Along this beautiful drive you will see rock climbers on the steep mountain faces, fishing in Boulder Creek and the Boulder Falls. The Boulder Creek is feed from the Barker Reservoir Dam which is located on the the east side of Nederland.

Nederland is at the cross roads of Route 119 and the Peak-to-Peak highway - a recreational gateway to the east side of the Indian Peak Wilderness. The Peak-to-Peak Highway attracts motorcyclists and bicyclists in the summer time because of the curvy mountain roads and slightly cooler temperature at 8,234 ft. If driving from Estes Park, Nederland makes a good place to stop and get some lunch at one of their many restaurants with outdoor seating. Nederland houses for rent
Within minutes of downtown there is Eldora ski resort and also fantastic mountain biking trials. The local mountain biking trails can range from easy to very challenging.

If you are looking for a job in Nederland you might look at what appears to be a pretty complete list of employers in Nederland on the Nederland's chamber of commerce web site.
Many of the homes in the downtown area were built in the 1920's and 1930's (approx. 600-1200 sq-ft.) which are smaller than the newer homes located around the downtown area.
Single family homes in the past 1.5 years have sold anywhere from $159,900 to $1,000,000. Real estate in Nederland is higher than average due to easy commuting distance to Boulder.
Nederland has started a somewhat odd tradition with the Frozen Dead Guy Day winter festival held each March.
